As an educator, I am dedicated to facilitating excellent, accessible, and diverse holistic musical experiences for all students, no matter their level of experience.

I offer virtual and in-person (for those local) lessons on all standard band instruments. See below for more details.

Students must provide their own instrument and reeds. I can provide some of the materials, but students may need to purchase a lesson book or other materials. I can offer a 30 minute "trial" lesson for $20; subsequential lessons are at rates specified below.

Oboe Lessons

I picked up the oboe in fifth grade, and at that point I had no idea that I would still be playing it more than a decade later. I love this instrument and have so enjoyed the unique challenges and experiences that come with it. I can teach beginner to advanced lessons for students who are either just starting on the instrument or who are switching from a different instrument.

Other Instrumental Lessons

I have been playing oboe for 11 years, trumpet for 4 years, and saxophone for 8 years, and I have taken classes on how to play and teach other standard band instruments during my time in undergraduate school. I have experience teaching a variety of instrument lessons through my pre-service and professional experiences and love the challenge that comes with learning together about the instruments.

Performances

If you are looking for an oboist or jazz saxophonist, look no further than right here! I absolutely love performing, and many of my favorite memories come from being a part of an ensemble. I have had opportunities to play in wind ensembles, symphony orchestras, various chamber groups, jazz combos, jazz big bands, and as a soloist.

Commissions

I'm still developing as a composer and artist in this medium, but I so enjoy the process of writing music for others. All of my compositions are for others and to connect human beings to one another. My next project is a gradual catalogue of young band music that is accessible for various levels of groups but is also challenging enough to aid young musicians in growing in their skill.
